Senior SAP S/4HANA FI/CO Consultant with SAP PS

Location: Charlotte, NC

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling (FI/CO) Business Stabilization Lead with strong expertise in SAP FI/CO and Project Systems (PS). The ideal candidate will have experience in business process adoption, operational readiness, post-go-live stabilization, and continuous improvement in complex global environments, preferably within energy, heavy engineering, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries.

The consultant will bridge the gap between the deployed SAP S/4HANA solution and day-to-day business operations, supporting Finance, Controlling, and Project Accounting teams in resolving process gaps, improving user adoption, and ensuring effective financial integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level functional expertise across SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling.
\n
• Lead business process walkthroughs, operational readiness assessments, fit-gap analysis, testing, training, and stabilization activities.
\n
• Support Project Accounting, Project Cost Management, capital project costing, and revenue recognition.
\n
• Provide expertise across General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and Profitability Analysis.
\n
• Support Group Reporting, Consolidation, Financial Closing, Period-End Processes, and Intercompany Accounting.
\n
• Stabilize business execution across SAP Finance and SAP Project Systems (PS), including project costs, budgets, settlements, and capitalization.
\n
• Lead the upload, validation, and reconciliation of planned costs across SAP PS structures, including project definitions, WBS elements, networks, activities, cost elements, fiscal periods, and planning versions.
\n
• Ensure financial integration across capital projects, manufacturing, procurement, maintenance, assets, and service operations.
\n
• Analyze recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and distinguish between process, data, training, integration, and system-related gaps.
\n
• Prepare high-quality Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) for approved enhancements.
\n
• Coordinate UAT, defect triage, business validation, and acceptance of fixes and enhancements.
\n
• Support global template rollouts, post-go-live hypercare, user training, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement.
\n
• Collaborate with finance leaders, controllers, business process owners, project teams, and IT support teams.
\n

Required Qualifications & Experience

\n
• 10+ years of SAP experience, with strong hands-on expertise in SAP FI/CO.
\n
• Proven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Finance adoption, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
\n
• Strong knowledge of SAP FI, CO, Project Accounting, and SAP Project Systems (PS).
\n
• Hands-on experience with project accounting, capital project costing, project budgeting, actual costs, commitments, settlement, and capitalization.
\n
• Experience preparing, uploading, validating, and reconciling planned cost data across WBS elements, networks, activities, and planning versions.
\n
• Strong understanding of integration between SAP Finance and SAP PS, MM, PM, SD, and Asset Management.
\n
• Experience with Group Reporting, Consolidation, Asset Accounting, Financial Closing, Intercompany Accounting, and financial controls.
\n
• Knowledge of IFRS, compliance, allocations, settlements, and revenue recognition.
\n
• Experience in global S/4HANA rollouts, hypercare, and post-go-live stabilization.
\n
• Experience in energy, utilities, oil and gas, heavy engineering, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries.
\n
• Strong business analysis, root-cause analysis, documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to prepare BRDs and translate business requirements into actionable functional solutions.
\n
• Fluent English communication skills.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA Finance certification.
\n
• SAP Activate methodology experience.
\n
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting and Consolidation.
\n
• Experience with SAP Fiori Finance applications and enterprise reporting platforms.
\n
• Experience with global template design, rollout methodologies, organizational change, and user training.
\n
• Familiarity with agile delivery practices and international, multicultural organizations.
\n
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
